We are running out of time.
Siranda as of late has made for a tale worthy of nightmares. The coastal storms still rage. The eternal groans of the dead still drown out sane thought. They are ever violent, ever hungry.
But where are the living?
Have they starved? Been struck down? Driven into hiding? Joined the ranks of the dead? Succumbed to the Lord of the Dead's unhallowed forces?
We are running out of time.
On this, Abel and Seth can agree. For weeks the pair had been unable to find other living souls. Finally that changes, prompting them to decide that it is time to act. Abel has been left haggard and despondent with only the dead for company. He was a husband and father. He was a farmer. Nothing in his past life - for surely, it was a different life than the one he now must tread - prepared him for the likes of this isolation. Seth looks exhausted; an optimistic man being slowly crushed under the burden of loneliness and the Spire Lord's curse.
Either we do something, or we fall like the rest of them.
Caution is left to the wind. Following Abel's lead brings the two men to an otherworldly realm where physics and geometry do not adhere to any known rules. It is in this warped place that they find the last of the old survivors - a merchant, an elf, and a necromancer. The ones who last launched a crusade against the colloquially-named "Zombie Lord". This band has a plan that is nearing fruition. At present, the Spire Lord's might is unmatchable - they lost their chance.
But we will soon be granted one more.
It is much for the ranger and the paladin to absorb but they try their best. The people of the strange realm can send them back in time. The survivors must maintain a hold on Sundered Desolation; Abel and Seth were unable to fully comprehend the extent of its significance, but it must remain occupied by the living. They must also find a fragmented map, for it details what may be the key to success in the next crusade against the Dead Lord.
Thus, their hunt for the map pieces begin. Any who did chance to see them, dead or living, would be witness to an exhaustive combing of the island. It is a difficult task for two people - they have all of Siranda to search for scraps of legendary parchment.
We will find it.
And they must.
