Born and raised in Kalaram, Alister grew up at the forge. Standing in his fathers wake, he would spend most of his days watching him craft items of martial might, and other everyday items. Having the privelege of money through his father's work he spent a few years being educated in mathematics and literacy, enjoying the simple pleasures that followed reading tales. He was wanderlust as he grew into his teens, hoping to find the legends he read about in books. After completeing his apprenticeship with his Father he set out from Kalaram to explore the island, and make a name for himself.

A few years later, the zombie plague surfaced, and Alister managed to survive the chaotic first few weeks of the outbreak. He found himself with a group of four others using their wits to survive. They managed to fortify an old forge and Alister used his knowledge to craft armor and weapons for his group. This continued on for a few years before Alister's group was beset on by the udnead in a large siege, Alister coming out as the only survive. Escaping from undeath's door, Alister made his way back to his hometown of Kalaram, and into the Sundered Desolation
