History
Born to the Uthgardt people, battle, glory and survival were ingrained into Tyri from birth. Unusual for her people, she was trained in the blade alongside her brothers and the boys of the tribe. Amongst the Tree Ghosts they deemed that some of the girls to be trained to help the hunting parties and to protect the Grandfather Tree once found. Second generation to the Tree Ghost tribe, the grasp of the Blue Bear still fresh on the minds of those who trained her some of his ideals still ingrained in them. With her people traveling from one forest to another in search of their sacred mound, she grew with her toes digging into welcoming dirt, bumps and bruises from stones tripping her teaching her to remember the importance of swiftness of foot.
By a certain age she lived in duality; both a woodswalker swift of foot and sure of aim, and a fierce warrior who grasped the rush of battle to serve her people and God the best she could. She trained with the leaders of hunting parties, following trails of paw prints and fallen fur. All the same she rose with the warriors patrolling and training, ready to defend her people and not knowing cowardice. The Shamans told them of the evils of the undead, how they were enemy to them and the Grandfather Tree. Glee would fill her and her brothers in arms when they’d happen on group of undead, and though they never found their sacred mound afterwards they still knew they did works of honor for the tribe.
One her sixteenth winter had passed, Tyri sat and thought. She was on the cusp of adulthood for her people, and yet had not earned herself a name to be known by. Surely she was an apt warrior and defender for her tribe but there was not glory found there, nothing to be sung of when her life left her and be accepted by her ancestors. With a goal in mind, she took her bow and what she could carry and left with the Chieftain and Shaman’s blessing for her search of earned glory.
Travel
For two years, the Uthgardt traveled across the mainland. She searched for a worthy cause to overcome and report back to her people. She did not fear being unable to find them again in their travels, knowing that once the time came she would be led back to them. In her travels she learned enough of the letters used by civilization to find her way, but still left vastly illiterate and unable to spell most words. Finally after a time of travel she heard whispers of an island. A land that had suddenly stopped communication, boats going for answers and never returning. With anticipation thrumming in her veins she set off to find someone who could bring her to the island. She saw two possibilities that either she would earn her glory in this mysterious land, or she would pass gloriously; there was no down side in her mind.
