Basically, it'd be nice to know what certain things actually do in game - things you probably want to know at character creation just to balance out your roleplay and viability issues.
In regards to subraces, knowing how much more it takes to manage your character is important, playing a character with a subrace + a biography does not net you level 2 like it does with someone who hasn't taken a subrace, rather you are half way to level 2 if your going with a +1 subrace thats going to give you a 1500 xp gap of probably getting killed thats a big deal; and of course the night mare 6000 xp to level with ecl +2... its honestly such a scary climb for some, you wouldn't want someone running that with a casual character, someone just saw as an option without first getting to know the game.
Its also important to know what those subraces actually benefit from and perhaps even their roleplay background. How are these things stereotyped... etc.

The other big thing is random features, like things you get from high skills, that sort of thing the benefits of taking one class or another; whether or not if you multiclass you get special class features from items.

Perhaps the elephant in the room is spell adjustments. I'm fine with them (Infact the summon spell is far more nice then it would be in regular DND; congratulations on having that precisely 1 round of summoned badger), I'd just like to know them ahead of time; Imagine making a sorcerer and depending on 1 or 2 spells working just as NWN describes them, and then they go up in smoke before your eyes, as a zombie comes in and one shots you basically guaranteed - if your playing a subrace you can't even level to 2 immediately after giving it a go.
