When zombies spawn they go immediately hostile, I think it'd be a lil better if they spent a moment before becoming fully hostile/able to attack (perhaps -20 ab and -20 dmg on spawn for 1 round; or maybe even less then that), in some cases there are doors and the like nearby, in others its just spawning ontop of a PC, and hitting them, and taking them down and that might just be the end of your character. The teleporting zombie is the most terrifying.. zombie indeed.

I'd like to suggest that 2-3 seconds of Blindness when a zombie spawns would probably work nicely for this.

For many zombies, I feel that it would be appropriate to have them react sluggishly upon spawning. I think blindness or dazing is a great way of accomplishing this - personally I prefer dazing since it allows them to continue moving but not attacking. However, with certain zombies, the teleporting, surprising nature of them is the point. Rest assured that we won't guarantee a freedom from those sorts of nasty surprises.
